QCAT has jurisdiction to deal with disputes between residents and retirement village operators.
Provided you have first (unsuccessfully) tried to resolve the dispute with the park, you may apply to QCAT for a mediator to be appointed.
Legal representation is permitted, and you are entitled to be supported by others at the mediation.
If the matter is not resolved at mediation you may apply to QCAT for a hearing.
You have an automatic right to apply to QCAT for a hearing in serious matters including those where your residency in the park is threatened or restricted.
