Real estate agent disputes

Claims for financial loss because of the conduct of real estate agents – property agents, residential letting agents, or real estate salespersons – it can be made against the Claim Fund administered by the Office of Fair Trading.

Such claims include those by property buyers for misleading or deceptive statements; or those in relation to commission or fees payable to an agent.

There is no upper limit on the value of the claim.

The OFT will investigate the claim and hear from the parties against whom the claim is made.

The chief executive of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General will then decide your claim or for large or complex claims, refer it to QCAT.

Our fixed fee package for written advice; and preparing a complaint is $2,500 plus GST. Terms apply.
